Working on posters

We worked on our demonstration posters today after testing. When designing a poster there are many things to think about. Here are some tips:
Use full size poster board
Posters should be readable from 12 feet away-no tiny lettering
Do not roll posters!!
Posters contain only the main points-not everything you are going to say.
Pictures should relate to the topic.
Thanks to all those who are helping us with our posters: Lauren's mom, Chad's mom, Mrs. Cindy, and Mrs. Freeburg.
We will work on posters next week in class, and then we will take them home for any finishing touches. Practice your demonstration several times in front of stuffed animals, your parents, or anyone you can get to listen. We will give the demonstrations to our class on November 7th.

These demonstrations cover several of our Georgia Performance Standards including:
ELA5LSV2-The student listens to and views various forms of text and media in order to gather and share information...when delivering or responding to presentations, the student (a) shapes information to achieve a particular purpose and to appeal to the interests and bakground knowledge of audience memebers. (b)uses notes, multimedia, or other memory aids(posters) to structure the presentation (c) engages the audience witth appropriate verbal cues and eye contact (d) projects a sense of individuality and personality in selecting and organizing content and delivery

Sounds like you are having a busy week. The upside is that the homework has been "lighter" than normal. Good luck with the rest of your testing.
